Hello January and Goodbye Christmas Chocolate .. well almost ;).
If you’re anything like me and indulged over the Christmas period they you may be feeling like a much needed ‘detox’ / ‘nutrient boost’. Our bodies naturally ‘detox’ themselves on a daily basis (so there’s no need to go on any crazy diets), however cutting down on junk/chocolate etc. doesn’t harm anyone! And when it comes to nutrients nothing is better for your body than plenty of colour.. think fruits and veggies to truly nourish your body from the inside out.
These juices are a great addition to your day – either with your meals, for example with breakfast or between them. Juices are a way of ADDING nutrients to your diet.. they are NOT designed to replace your meals (and I do NOT promote juice detox diets.. check out my friend Helen’s post on juicing for weight loss for more information).
Juicing involves extracting most of the water from fruits and vegetables, along with essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants whilst leaving the fibre (pulp) behind. Juices are a great way of giving your body a nutrient boost, and without the fibre you can pack more fruit and veg into a single serving.
I have Philips Juicer incase you’re wondering, which extracts more juice from fruit and vegetables while taking just one minute to clean (all the parts are dishwasher proof too!). It’s both easy to use and store due to its compact design. You can see me using it in [this green juice recipe video] for more information!
So to see my favourite five colourful juice recipes carry on reading/scrolling and do let me know if you make them too! Each recipe serves 1-2 people in less than 100 calories.
P.S. For more Juice Inspiration check out my other juice recipes!
ORANGE CITRUS JUICE
This orange citrus juice is an immune boosting juice. It is rich in antioxidants and vitamins C and A, and combines both vegetables and juice to provide slow release energy to keep you fuelled and hydrated between meals.
- Ingredients: 4 carrots, 2 satsumas and 1 red apple.
- Method: Place all of the ingredients into your juicer, juice them and stir before serving!
GREEN TOPICAL JUICE
This green juice recipe tastes AMAZING! And it was even loved by my friend who dislikes pineapple AND spinach. It’s the ultimate healthy digestion juice recipe (thanks to the pineapple), and is packed with vitamins A and C.
- Ingredients: 5 pineapple rings (or 1 cup of pineapple/165g), 1 medium conference pear, 1 carrot (using these 3 ingredients alone makes the juice bright orange!) and 2 handfuls of spinach which turns the juice a lovely pale green.
- Method: Place all of the ingredients into your juicer, juice them and stir before serving!
(this juice honestly tastes better than it looks and has a lovely sweet taste to it thanks to the blend of fruit with the veggies!)
SUNSET BERRY JUICE
This is an antioxidant rich berry and carrot juice. Rich in vitamin C this juice is great for the immune system (just make sure to mix it before you drink it first!):
- Ingredients: 80g (a handful) of raspberries, 7-8 (2 handfuls) of strawberries and 2 carrots,
- Method: Place all of the ingredients into your juicer, juice them and stir before serving!
PURPLE BEET JUICE
Beetroot is a great source of nitrate and has been shown to help lower blood pressure.. drink it pre-workout for an energy boost too!!
- Ingredients: 3 cooked beetroot balls, 1.5 apples, 1 small conference pear, 1 handful of grapes,1 large romaine lettuce heart and 1/4-1/2 lemon (peeled) to taste.
- Method: Place all of the ingredients into your juicer, juice them and stir before serving!
RED POMMY JUICE
Pomegranate contains vitamins A, C and E, iron and other antioxidants (notably tannins). Combined with grapes and carrots this juice is a nutrient packed power-juice and it tastes delicious (perfectly sweet!).
- Ingredients: A large handful of red grapes, 1/2 a pomegranate (seeds only) and 2 carrots.
- Method: Place all of the ingredients into your juicer, juice them and stir before serving!
I really hope these recipes help you to have a healthy January.. Which is your favourite?!

Cheers Mark!
I have a vitamix, rather than a juicer, can these work just as well as ‘whole juice’ recipes?

Can these last in the fridge? If so, for how long? I absolutely love fresh homemade juice but have not time to do it during the weekdays. So i was wondering if i could do juicing on the weekends and drink them throughout the week 🙂
